Biography:

Dr. John Lam received his B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Queen's University in 2003, 2006 and 2010, respectively.  He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University, Toronto.  His research interests include high frequency power converters with soft-switching techniques, wide-bandgap based power electronics, renewable energy applications, power management and advanced control techniques for high frequency converters. 

He received the "Lassonde Innovation Award - Early Researcher" from the School of Engineering at York University in 2020, the "2nd Runner-up of the 2022 Engineering Research Project of the Year Award" from the Professional Engineers of Ontario, and the 2nd prize paper award from the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2022.
